Study and design of the system of public parking areas needed in order to re-organize vehicular mobility in the Rimini coastal area, an urban context characterized by high touristic vocation, in which the “Parco del Mare” project will be realized. In harmony with the goals of the Parco del Mare, the aim was to displace vehicular traffic from the coastline in favor of pedestrians, cyclists and public transportation. The design process involved four areas for the Southern Parco del Mare: Piazzale Fellini (231 parking spots), Piazza Marvelli (88 parking spots), Via Poerio near Pascoli bus stop (239 parking spots), Via Ugo Bassi near the police headquarters (387 parking spots).
For what concerns the Northern Parco del Mare, the work consisted in a consultancy activity tasked to support the Municipal Administration in identifying and sizing the most suitable areas to accommodate the demand for parking spots according to location, zoning category and value of the areas.
